Staff from Cawarden came together to raise some festive cheer as part of the YMCA Derbyshire’s 2020 ‘Jolly Jumper Day’ and annual Christmas Appeal.
Cawarden’s Jolly Jumper Day took place across its sites and offices (HQ and home offices) on the 17th December.
Held on the final Thursday at work before the Christmas break, staff got into the festive spirit by wearing an array of seasonal sweaters in return for a small donation to support the YMCA Derbyshire’s Christmas Appeal.
In addition, many dressed their pets up for the occasion and were pictured at Cawarden’s Headquarters in Ockbrook, Derby.
With thanks to the kindness and generosity of all staff who took part, the festive fundraiser made £135.00 – helping to fund warm meals, activities and support for disadvantaged people over the festive period.
We recognise that this year has been particularly difficult for charities so we wanted to spread some festive cheer by supporting a local charity this Christmas. Having worked with the YMCA Derbyshire previously, we decided to take part in their Christmas Appeal which saw our office-based and site teams – and even our pets – wear a Christmas knit for the occasion. We know that the YMCA Derbyshire is a great organisation which helps less fortunate people. We were therefore pleased to take part in the event and further support their vital work.”

Thanks to your donation, we were able to give [our young people] gifts that they would have otherwise not received. The ability to show them that they are thought of, worthy and celebrated as individuals mean the world to them. Alongside that, we had the ability to provide a full three-course Christmas dinner and socially-distanced fun evenings.”
