Specialist Contractor Cawarden, based in Derby, has received the exciting news that it is in the running for its first-ever International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award. The company has been invited to a prestigious awards ceremony this July at one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, to find out if it is a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award winner.
Cawarden will be receiving an International CSR Award for their dedication to social responsibility – specifically in recognition of their work at a 10-storey former office block located on Edmund Street in Birmingham city centre. During the project, the site team carefully saved thousands of items which were then donated to Nightlife Outreach, a mental health and addiction support service located nearby, as well as other community organisations.
Nightlife Outreach, known for its commitment to providing a safe and inclusive space for the most vulnerable members of the community, is currently in the process of relocating its community centre. The support from Cawarden came as a timely boost, significantly enhancing the facilities and resources available to those seeking assistance.
The donations included essential items including thousands of carpet tiles, various types of lighting, hundreds of roof tiles and even a fully equipped kitchen complete with appliances and serving counters.
The International CSR Excellence Awards were created to reward businesses that are actively working to become more ethical, and sustainable, and meet CSR goals and objectives. Simply put on their website, the International CSR Excellence Awards are “for companies that have a heart”. The Awards have recognised past winners and like-minded firms from the International business community, including Royal Mail, Balfour Beatty, Unilever, Warner Bros, University of Warwick, and Kier. The Green Organisation owns and operates the awards.
We have been inundated with entries from all around the world, so competition this year has been particularly fierce.”
