The Considerate Constructor Scheme (CCS) has rated Cawarden 4/5 stars following a virtual site tour and visit to their Head Offices earlier this year.

2020 has been a very difficult and challenging year for everyone, but Cawarden has been fortunate to continue working throughout most of the year. Like all businesses, Cawarden has had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure COVID-19 guidelines are followed. Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, Cawarden’s priority has been to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees, their families, clients, and the public to minimise the risk of spreading infection – all whilst still delivering quality projects and the best possible service for its valued clients.

Under the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which was designed to raise standards of the construction industry, registered companies are audited annually and monitored against the five pillars of the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice:

Care about Appearance
Making sure sites appear professional and well managed.

Secure everyone’s Safety
Attaining the highest levels of safety performance.

Respect the Community
Giving the utmost consideration to the impact on neighbours and the public.

Protect the Environment
Protecting and enhancing the environment.

Value their Workforce
Providing a supportive and caring working environment.

The Scheme’s monitor carried out their rigorous audit remotely which included a video tour of a live demolition project. The performance was also based on an in-person visit to Cawarden’s Head Offices in Derby earlier this year.

In all five areas of the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice, Cawarden achieved ‘very good’.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.
