Cawarden is delighted to announce that Josh Fuller, who joined the business as an apprentice with no previous demolition experience, has been named Demolition Apprentice of the Year at the eighth annual British Demolition Awards 2026 in London.
Organised by Demolition Hub to celebrate excellence across the demolition industry, the awards recognise outstanding individuals, projects and businesses that are helping to shape the future of the sector. The Apprentice of the Year category highlights emerging talent and celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, development and potential early in their careers.
The award marks the culmination of an impressive apprenticeship journey for Josh, who joined Cawarden with no previous demolition experience and has developed into a trusted and highly capable member of the team. Throughout his apprenticeship, delivered through London South East Colleges, he has worked on seven major demolition and enabling works projects across the UK, gaining experience across a wide range of disciplines while earning the respect of colleagues, managers and clients alike.
During that time, Josh embraced every opportunity to learn, completing extensive industry training alongside his Level 2 Demolition Operative Apprenticeship. As his confidence and knowledge grew, he took on increasing levels of responsibility, including supervising demolition teams, coordinating agency labour and supporting site management activities.
The judges were ultimately unable to separate the top two candidates, resulting in the award being shared between Josh and Kamal Radji of Clifford Devlin. Both winners were recognised for their outstanding achievements and shared the stage together to celebrate their success.
